The Silver Sword maps the Balicki Family Children, Ruth, Edek and Bronia’s survival in war-torn Warsaw in the aftermath of WWII, left behind to fend for themselves.
A chance encounter with an orphan called Jan, who has their father’s paper knife, affectionately known as the Silver Sword, gives the children the proof they need that their father is still alive. This sparks an adventurous journey in search of reunion – encountering people from every nation and animals such as Jimpy the cockerel, Bistro the chimpanzee and Ludwig the dog.
The Silver Sword was named as one of the top 50 children’s books of all time by The Times, this new adaptation is a musical treat for all the family.
