Joseph Aldous

Joseph is an award-winning writer and actor. He is an alumni of the Soho Writers’ Lab, Soho Writers’ Alumni Group, and LAMDA.

His debut play, GET HAPPY, won the Carlo Annoni International LGBTQ+ Playwrighting Prize and was longlisted for the Theatre503 Playwrighting Prize. GET HAPPY debuted at the Pleasance Theatre Islington in 2023. In 2025, it transferred to the Omnibus Theatre for a full run, where it was nominated for four Fringe Theatre Awards and named an Assessor’s Choice by the Offies, and featured in Time Out and the BBC.

Joseph’s second play, THE WEDDING, was commissioned by the Oxford School of Drama. His further stage work has been performed at the Soho Theatre, Theatre503, VAULT, the Customs House, and the LAMDA MishMash Festival. BURYING GRANDAD, Joseph’s first TV pilot, was longlisted in the top 2% of BBC Writersroom submissions, and in 2024 he completed the BFI Network South East Script Lab.
