John has a number of projects in development including ballroom dancing gigolo drama COUPLE #9, contemporary immigration thriller THE ILLEGAL, and screwball caper TIGER BONE.
He is currently adapting Ben Aaronovitch’s RIVERS OF LONDON novels for television.
Most recently he wrote on both series of Guy Ritchie’s hit series THE GENTLEMEN (Netflix), and has written on A TOWN CALLED MALICE (Sky Max), and THE BLUE (Paramount+).
He was lead writer on series three of RIVIERA for Sky Atlantic, and has written on numerous seasons of GRANTCHESTER for ITV1/PBS Masterpiece.
A veteran of various writers’ rooms, John has written episodes of CURFEW and Harlan Coben’s THE FIVE for Sky One, and THE TUNNEL also for Sky Atlantic. He wrote two episodes of Simon Beaufoy’s FX series TRUST.
He has written for BBC shows including three series of BEING HUMAN (BBC3), and the online spin-off BECOMING HUMAN.

John wrote on the second series of BAFTA-award winning IN THE FLESH (BBC3), both series of LIP SERVICE (also BBC3) and ROBIN HOOD (BBC1).
His other original projects include supernatural crime series THE DEAD BEAT, martial arts vigilante show KING COBRA, as well as SIEGE and BLOODSHOT. He co-wrote a pilot for hostage-drama THE FERRYMAN for FX in the US, and has also co-written pilots for the action-packed SHOTGUN, and time-travel crime drama STITCHES.
Soon after leaving Cambridge University, John found himself developing and script editing cult ITV soap NIGHT AND DAY. He ended up writing 35 episodes and rewriting as many if not more. He has a number of credits on children’s shows including UGETME, ANIMAL SPIES and POWERS for CBBC.
