Catherine first feature NUCLEAR, a supernatural thriller which she directed and which was co-written by David-John Newman premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival 2019. The film is financed by Ffilm Cymru Wales and BFI and stars Emilia Jones, George Mackay and Sienna Guillory.
Catherine began her career as an academic before working for the BBC as a documentary director. Her first feature as a writer, DREAMING OF JOSEPH LEES, (produced by Midsummer Films, director Eric Styles) was a Fox Searchlight production starring Samantha Morton and Rupert Graves. This was followed by more
feature scripts including THE COUNTING HOUSE, an Italian-Chinese horror which she co-wrote; CALIFORNIA DREAMIN’, a Romanian feature which she co-wrote with Cristian Nemescu and Tudor Voican, and which won the Grand Prix, Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2007.
Her shorts include THE BLACK DOG starring David Threlfall, NADGER (BAFTA Cymru winner) and most recently THINGS THAT FALL FROM THE SKY starring Ophelia Lovibond and Steven Waddington.
She is currently developing a number of film and television projects. These include a thriller set in the Arctic – GREENLAND TIME, a spooky ghost story – PERISH, a UK/Nigerian crime tv drama – INDEPENDENCE AVENUE, and a scifi drama set on Lanzarote – THIS EARTH IS NOT OUR HOME.
Alongside her own creative work, Catherine also works as a script consultant, mentor and trainer.
