Martin Sadofski

MARTIN SADOFSKI was born in Bradford from an Eastern European Jewish background. He studied English and Theatre at Manchester University and was lead singer in the indie band “The Passmore Sisters” Recording three Radio One sessions.

OUTSIDE OF HEAVEN, his first play, was winner of the 1995 Yorkshire Playwrights competition. It received a full sell out production at the Royal Court in London. Following this he spent two years as the ITV sponsored writer-in-residence at the National Theatre in London.

Martin progressed to writing films and television drama. In 1999, he wrote WALKING ON THE MOON, a TV drama about a teenager who is bullied at school, directed by BAFTA winning director Peter Kosminsky.

His two-part BBC television drama BLOOD AND PEACHES about the rise of the National Front in Bradford was screened in 1996.

In the late nineties he worked on the New Labour Election campaign, writing three party political broadcasts.

He has written three acclaimed single films for BBC one – THE HITCH, YOUR MOTHER SHOULD KNOW and COME FLY WITH ME. He also worked uncredited for Miramax films as a script fixer on several large scale movies.

His theatre play NEVERMIND about Kurt Cobain played to full houses in London in July 2009.

His feature film SEAMONSTERS won Best Film at Nantes Film Festival 2013, and was nominated for Best Feature at Raindance 2013 and Austin Film Festival 2013. It has just been released on Amazon Prime to great acclaim.

He recently wrote the short film FATHERS DAY, a cinema short starring Ray Winstone, John Simm and Charles Dance about a self-help group for men with prostate cancer.


In 2018 he originated and developed a BBC Horizon ALASTAIR CAMPBELL, DEPRESSION & ME which was
broadcast on BBC2 in 2019.

MY YEAR INSIDE THE ALT-RIGHT, the story of a young gay man who spent a year undercover as a far-right activist. The documentary has been sold to ten worldwide broadcasters and is now on Amazon Prime.

Martin recently wrote the pharmaceutical thriller IMMUNITY for Kindle Entertainment and is currently developing SCARECROWS, a new independent feature film with producer director Charles Beeson.
